The Gloria Game
Jo was pulled from his time and place to Rome, but a Rome that had been put under a bottle, and was being controlled by a being called Glorith. She put those in the city, including Jo through hell, testing them, tormenting them, changing their bodies, and making them see and hear things that did not exist. Sometimes, they were given breaks, and even gifts, but most of the time, those turned out to be cursed, and took things form them, such as memories, or powers.
While there, Jo forgot his parents entirely, but remembered the rest of his life and had his powers changed, and lessened in some ways. This all led him to be a little less trusting, and a little more paranoid of things and people.
